Overview
Paradox's Crusader Kings differs from other realm-building grand strategy games in one key respects: you control a dynasty, not a kingdom. Sadly, in practice you control one character at a time, and the fortunes of the rest of your dynasty have no bearings on how the game turns out (aside, of course, from a well-groomed heir or two). Your eldest daughter ends up marrying to a glorious dynasty, and giving birth to Christianity’s greatest king in a century? You get nothing for it. You managed to get your kid brother named Pope? Doesn't register. All your Kings end up dying discredited, having spent all their prestige claiming titles before they "waste it" by dying? Lucky you, History has no memory. Unless you are a committed role-player, Crusader Kings will reward you for one thing only: massive conquest.
DynasticGlory is a modest proposal to change that. Give it a saved game and it will give you, for every dynasty in the game, their cumulated prestige and piety, plus a global “Glory” score that attempts to capture your dynasty’s legacy – prestige, piety, genius leaders, saints and heretics, it all count. Now you know where you stand.
Changes
Version 0.3.3 :
- [Bug fix] Fixed a major bug where some characters were excluded from the Individual HOF, Individual lists and Dynastic titles calculations and only appeared in the Dynastic member lists. Affects dynastic glory calculation due to missing titles lowering Status.
- [Bug fix] Fixed a bug where holders of destroyed titles still appeared as holding them in dynastic windows. Affects dynastic glory calculation due to extra titles increasing Status.
- [Bug fix] Realm-duress and Rebelious trait icons were interverted.
Version 0.3.2 :
- [Bug fix] Fixed a bug in the Windows version where the title-holders' titles sometimes appeared lower down the window than they should have.
Version 0.3.1 :
- [Bug fix] Proper checking for invalid wedding records (where one or both of the characters given does not exist). Instead of crashing with a KeyNotFound error, DynasticGlory will now ignore the line and show a log of problems found.
- Dynasties and individuals are now clickable in their respective Halls of Fame.
- It is now possible to close DynasticGlory by closing the main window.
Version 0.3 :
- Dynasty "Status" : this new factor calculated at the dynastic level gives bonuses to dynasties with a higher primary title (such as King or an indepenent Duke) and to dynasties with multiple title-holders.
- "Chivalry" and "Fame" : the effect of traits is now split in two. Traits can both directly add to glory if they represent an achivement of some kind (Emperor or education traits, for example), or influence a character's Chivalry ("Just" increases it, "Cruel" reduces it, for example). Chivalry gives a percentage bonus to existing glory.
- Portraits : DynasticGlory now displays the characters' portraits in various screens.
- The current title holders of dynasties are now displayed in the Dynasty windows.
- Various UI changes.
Version 0.2 :
- Quartered shields for dynasties uniting up to four coats of arms if the dynasty has more than one title of its highest level. Exemple:
Counts of Savoie, Piemonte and Lombardia |
Dukes of Provence, Toulouse, Bordeaux and Genoa |
Kings of France and England |
- Dynasty window displays the number of living characters as well as total characters number
- Byzantium now treated as an Empire, not Kingdom (in name, and when finding the main title of a dynasty)
- [Bug fix] Fixed bug where the primary title of a character was not always correct if he had an other of the same rank
Version 0.1 :
